Welcome to Silverkeys Kennel! We strive to produce quality puppies that are healthy and well socialized with gentle temperaments and winning personalities. A versatile, intelligent breed, Labrador retrievers excel in the show ring and in the field due to their easy trainability.

We have been breeding, raising, training and enjoying Labrador retrievers as companions since 2002. We received our CKC registered kennel name ‘Silverkeys Kennel’ in 2004. The origin of our name comes from the surrounding large, old silver maple trees that shower us yearly with their fruit or ‘keys’.

Our small country kennel is located outside the village of Embro, Ontario. Oxford County is well known for its prime agricultural land and dairy farms. Our acreage enables us to give our dogs lots of free runs and provides great sniffing stimuli. Large individual indoor kennel runs provide them with security and shelter from the elements for that much-needed rest time. A large outdoor exercise area provides a free but more secured playtime for all. Each spends time in the house, on a rotational basis, to receive that all-important ‘couch time’ with their human family and to keep house manners up to date. They are indoor/outdoor dogs and we house train, crate train and obedience train each one. Our dogs obtain OVC certification on hips and elbows and eyes are CERF cleared yearly prior to selective breeding. All receive excellent veterinary care year round. Our dogs are first and foremost family companions and participate in obedience training. We are interested in pursuing the areas of Rally-O and agility further.
